“Makes sense.” I get a hook in right before he uppercuts me.

“Look, I wanted to ask you, man to man.” He stops moving and my body senses what’s coming. My vision starts to get a little red and his words sound distant. “I won’t do it without your support, because Katherine needs that.”

My feet bounce from side to side. Energy surging through me.

“I’d like your blessing. I want to ask Katherine to marry me.”

I swing my arm, clocking Marcus with a right hook. His body hits the floor before I even register what I did. “FUCK,” I bellow as I drop to my knees to see if he’s conscious.

He spits his mouth gear out, his teeth pink from blood. “Mother—fucker.” He raises his glove to his face, and starts laughing out loud. “Good thing I wore my headgear. That went exactly as I expected.” He continues to laugh as I grab his arm and pull him to a sitting position.

I can’t help it. I tried and tried to find any reason I could not to like this guy. But the truth of it is, he deserves a woman like my mom.

  “Welcome to the family, Marcus.”

  Epilogue

  Blake

“How in the hell did you rig this thing up, Killer?” Our resident-in-training fighter has to be the smartest teenager I’ve ever met. The guys around me snicker, probably thinking I give a rat’s ass that this live camera feed is attached to a Stetson hat. Little do they know, I’m going to look like a cowboy pimp in this thing. Had I known these d-bags were going to try and get a laugh, I would have showed up in full Western gear instead of my slick ass grey dress pants and black button down.

Katherine asked if I would stream the ceremony live, so that Beth, Rick, and the boys could watch from the other side of the world. I asked Killian if he could help me out with how to rig something, and I swear he chubbed up.

“Hold still for a second and let me get your earpiece in.” Killian comes at me with more technology.

“What the hell is that for?”

“It’s so you can hear Beth talk to you.” He gives me the duh look, that I’m pretty sure my soon-to-be daughter, Axelle, invented. “Okay, one last adjustment and we’ll be ready to test this thing.”

He messes with his phone before I hear a ringing in my ear. He reaches above the brim of my hat and taps the phone that’s mounted there, then rushes off to the other room. Weird ass kid.

“You there, Blake?” I jolt back at the voice in my head.

  “Shit!”

“Sounds perfect, man.” Killian’s voice comes in loud and clear. “Now, take a loop around the house and tell everyone it’s time to go pick up the girls across the street. Once we’re loaded in the stretch Hummer, we’ll call Beth.”

I head into Marcus’ kitchen where all the guys are just getting ready to take a shot.

“Where’s mine, assholes?” They all turn to look, then bust out laughing.

“Looking good, Killian.” Jonah raises his shot glass to my head.

  “Thanks, man.” He laughs.

I find the closest mirror, so I can see what the fuck is going on. Killian’s face is on the screen that’s mounted on the hat. His black rimmed glasses too close to the camera. My head flies back as laughter escapes. “You look like a dip shit.”

“Don’t make sudden moves like that, it’ll make Beth seasick. Try and move smoothly.” He’s already annoyed.

  “I can’t make any promises.”

“This should be interesting.” His sigh comes through my earpiece. “Test run was a success. Load up, all systems are a go.”

  * * *

The stretch Hummer pulls up to the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. I get out first and take a slow panoramic view of the front.

I’m rocking the shit out of my job.

“This is where Mom is getting married?” Beth’s high-pitched tone cracks at my eardrum, then her laughter follows. “No wonder she wasn’t giving away any details.”

Katherine gets out of the Hummer and I turn to get a view. She looks gorgeous. Man, that woman has aged well. Her dark brown hair is down, the soft waves brushing her shoulders. No wonder Marcus won’t take his eyes off her.

I follow the couple into the chapel, expecting to see Elvis at the front of the room. What I see though, is fucking epic.

“No. She. Didn’t.” Beth’s laughter fills my ear. “Oh, my God”

“Waylon-fucking-Jennings.” I look at the man who’s performing the ceremony. His brown shaggy hair in disarray, the look still in style. His Western shirt unbuttoned halfway. Acoustic guitar and signature leather strap, with his name down the front, making him look very authentic. “Your mom is the shit, Beth.” The entire room is in a Western theme. I wish I would have brought my own guitar, we could have jammed to some outlaw country.

“Did he just call Grandma “shit”, Mom?” I hear a young voice.

“That was an accident, Eric. Right, Blake?”

Shit, I forgot they were all watching. “Right.”

Taking my place up at the front next to Waylon, we wait for everyone to get seated so we can start. Layla sits up front with Raven, and my attention goes right to her. She looks fucking stunning in that green dress. It covers every single one of the curves on her very pregnant body. Her bigger than normal tits filling it out perfectly. I stare at them a while, wondering if I can sneak her off between the wedding and reception.

A throat clears. “Blake.” Beth is in my ear. “The boys would like to see some other things as well.”

“I’m fine with it.” Another little voice says.

Marcus makes his way to the front, with Jarrett right behind. His hair styled, and his black dress pants and plain white button-up solidifying that bad ass has no age limit. I’ll need to be taking notes. Especially since my woman seems to have a silver fox crush.

The music starts to play, so I focus my attention on the back. Jonah whispers something in his mother’s ear and then she’s wrapping her petite figure around him, hugging tightly. She really deserves this.

Katherine takes her son’s arm as he walks her down the aisle. Her fitted cream and gold lace dress showing off her impressive figure.

Once at the front, Waylon asks, “Who gives this woman away today?”

Jonah leans down and kisses her cheek before finally replying, “I do.”

And there it is… Katherine gets her happily ever after.

  Now cue the party, motherfuckers!
